What to expect from a Craniosacral Therapy treatment

A treatment involves having a case history taken, and then lying (or sitting) fully clothed on a couch whilst the therapist places their hands on your cranium, sacrum (tailbone) or any other area of the body which is relevant: all contact is negotiated with you.

The touch used is light and non-invasive; there are no manipulations, which makes it ideal for everyone, including newborn babies and the elderly.  Patients generally report feelings of deep relaxation and well being, and may be aware of pulsations, tingling or heat.

The number of sessions needed will vary from person to person and will depend on why you are coming to see me.  Generally, acute conditions respond more quickly than chronic ones.  Many people choose to continue to receive treatments at regular intervals after their symptoms have cleared up as a preventative health measure.
